I think people write about love to show their feelings. There are so many people that don’t know how to express themselves, and writing how they feel is a good way to express their true feelings.
We write about love because many times we think we are in love… and somehow you feel the need to tell everybody the way you are feeling; but when there’s no one to share that with… you may only have writing to express everything you feel.

the connection between sleeping and death?
I think the connection between death and sleep is the nothingness you experience. I've grown up in a Christian home, and i've been taught that death is just a a very long, deep, and dreamless sleep until the second coming of Christ. Once he has come back, we will wake up and live a new life with him. In my opinion, I have always just seen sleep as being dead for a short time. A place or state of mind where nothing affects you or it's like a way to avoid life and all the problems you have. There are just no worries...except when you have those dreams nibbling on your conscience.

MOON
I don’t know that there was a winner. I do believe that the invaders had more power over the townspeople. Just because they had the guns, and the soldiers, but like in the book the doctor said “ the flies have conquered the flypaper.” I took that as the flies were the towns people and they were winning. And another quote that hinted the townspeople were winning was when he said "The people don't like to be conquered, sir, and so they will not be. Free men cannot start a war, but once it is started, they can fight on in defeat. Herd men, followers of a leader, cannot do that, and so it is always the herd men who win battles and the free men who win wars. You will find that is so, sir."
I believe that is true because the towns people are fighting for what they truly believe in. They are fighting for their right live. The soldiers on the other hand are just following orders. It doesn’t really mean anything to them besides it’s their duty to follow orders.

The Moon is Down
I’m not sure what I would do if my town was invaded. It was a surprise, and it sounded like a quiet invasion that happened over a period of time. I think it would be wise to go about your normal life and keep things as peaceful as possible. The invaders just came to get the coal, and that’s all they want. I would hate to see so many people die over something like that. Things would be hard, of course, like working for the invaders- one would have to swallow their pride which is hard for all humans. Once the invaders do leave, the town ,being so close as it is, could work together to rebuild their community. The only thing that I would not want to tolerate is Mr. Correll and his betrayal. He sought the people’s trust, and used his status in the town to help the invaders come. From what I understand, his work is the reason the invasion happened so calmly in the beginning, but I would not mind if he were to die.

life struggles
Struggles, challenges, and suffering all strongly evoke human emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, and the feeling you get when you overcome a challenge. For some people, it can inspire great stories, and poems that people will come to recognize. For others, it’s not always the easiest thing to express or explain through writing, but when you are able to it’s a easy thing to relate to. It’s human to go through struggles, and by going through them we get a chance to know people, make deeper connections, and have greater understandings of each other. I know in my life, I met my best friend because we ran into the same problem and helped each other through it, and we‘ll always have that connection. Another reason for writing about struggles is that saying “ misery loves company” because people like sharing their misfortune and suffering. Authors may write about their struggles just to show the world how miserable life really is and that there is no fairy tale ending, and that’s just how it is like in all the readings we were assigned there wasn’t really anything happy about them, some of it was just writing about a sad day in someone’s life.

What you pawn i will redeem-
I think the main character, Jackson, was just a lazy drunk guy. I don't understand how he convinced all these people to help him out. Everytime he received other peopls hard earned money, he would just spend it on alcohol. Every time he got drunk, he would end up worse than he was before with friends leaving him and him getting beat up. I don't think he deserved to get the regalia back, but i do feel like the pawnshop owner understood why he wanted it so much and gave it to him for that reason and not his "hardwork".
Young Goodman Brown-
I sympathized with the main character in this story. You go into the world believing in and trusting all the right people like your family, significant others, people of your same faith. Then you come back and have learned all these new things. Things that one would probably never want to know. It changes the way you are and the way you interact with these people you used to trust so much, even if they aren't even true.
